The Client

Fuzey Ltd is a customer communication and business management platform aimed mainly at local service businesses and small-to-medium companies. It combines messaging, phone, payments, reviews, scheduling, and CRM-style features into one dashboard. They had been running their website on Wix, but they have decided to move to Webflow for a better design experience and more control over their site.

The Challenges

Fuzey approached me with a clear goal: to migrate their website from Wix to Webflow, change their domain from fuzey.com to getfuzey.com, and ensure the entire transition is smooth and disruption-free.

Any website migration, especially one that involves both a platform switch and a domain change, comes with significant SEO risks.

Here's what they were facing:

  • Platform + domain change simultaneously — two major SEO changes at once, which doubles the risk of ranking drops
  • No existing 301 redirect strategy — without proper redirects, every old URL becomes a broken link for Google and users
  • Risk of losing indexed pages — if the Webflow staging site wasn't properly set up, pages could get de-indexed or never re-indexed on the new domain
  • Missing SEO metadata — titles, meta descriptions, H tags, and slugs on the Wix site needed to be preserved and carried over Webflow
  • Broken links and 404 errors post-migration — a common issue when the URL structure change without a proper mapping plan
  • Google Search Console not configured — no search visibility in Google Search Console into how the new site was performing in search after launch
  • No sitemap submitted — without a sitemap, Google would have no clear roadmap to crawl and index the new domain

The Solution

The goal was simple: move Fuzey's website to Webflow, switch the domain, and maintain its SEO ranking and traffic — or better.

Here's exactly what I did:

  • Crawled both websites (Wix live site and Webflow staging) using SEO crawling tools like Screaming Frog to get a full overview of all URLs, metadata, and site structure
  • Backed up all SEO data from the Wix site — including page titles, meta descriptions, URL slugs, and heading tags (H1, H2, H3)
  • Analyzed the Webflow staging site to identify gaps, missing pages, incorrect metadata, and any structural issues before going live
  • Implemented all SEO data on the Webflow staging site — every title, description, slug, and heading tag was migrated accurately from Wix to Webflow
  • Mapped all URLs from Wix to Webflow — created a detailed and comprehensive URL mapping spreadsheet so every old URL had a clear, direct destination on the new site
  • Connected the new domain (getfuzey.com) to Webflow — handled the domain configuration cleanly to avoid downtime or misconfiguration
  • Set up 301 redirects from the old Wix site to the new Webflow live site — every old page now points permanently to its new equivalent, passing link equity and preserving rankings
  • Ran full SEO optimization on the new Webflow site — cleaned up on-page elements, improved structure, and made sure everything was technically sound
  • Set up Google Search Console for the new domain — verified ownership, linked it properly, and started monitoring performance immediately after launch
  • Created and submitted an XML sitemap — gave Google a clean roadmap to find and index all pages on the new domain
  • Identified and fixed all 404 errors and broken redirects — ran post-launch checks to catch any missed URLs or broken redirect chains and resolved them quickly
  • Delivered a full traffic, performance, and rankings report— so Fuzey had complete visibility into how the migration went and where things stood after launch
