The Client

Cosmetology (cosmetology.co.za) is a South African online beauty and wellness retailer. The store sells a wide range of skincare, haircare, makeup, health supplements, and exclusive product bundles from top professional brands, all with nationwide delivery across South Africa.

The store is hosted on WooCommerce and serves thousands of customers looking for premium beauty products online. With a growing product catalog and increasing traffic, the business needed a faster, more reliable hosting solution that could match its scale.

The Challenges

Before hiring with Khalid Hussain, Cosmetology was running on shared hosting server called Xneelo, that was unable to manage the demands of a large WooCommerce store. Poor server performance with higher server response time and time to first by (TTFB).

For an eCommerce brand with large catalog, product, and brand-led traffic, even a small migration mistake could lead to ranking drops, crawl issues, broken URLs, or a poor user experience..

Here are the key challenges the Woocommerce store was struggling with:

  • Slow page load times across the entire store,
  • Poor Core Web Vitals, including poor LCP, CLS, and sluggish interactivity
  • Low Google PageSpeed scores on both desktop and mobile, hurting rankings and user experience

The Solution

I put together a full technical SEO and store migration plan to move Cosmetology to Cloudways without losing a single visitor. The approach focused on a clean, zero-downtime migration followed by a complete performance overhaul to hit that perfect PageSpeed score.

Here is everything that was done throughout the campaign:

  • Cloudflare integration and configuration, setting up edge caching rules and security settings without breaking WooCommerce functionality
  • Post-migration technical SEO audit, including crawl verification, canonical tags, 301 redirects integrity, XML sitemap resubmission, and Google Search Console monitoring
